The funeral will be 11 a.m. Thursday at Sampit Methodist Church Cemetery, directed by Mayer Funeral Home. Mr. Thomas was born in Georgetown County April 18, 1911, a son of Mrs. Mary Caroline Jayroe Thomas and the late John Willie Thomas. Mr. Thomas was born in Georgetown County April 18, 1911, a son of Mrs. Mary Caroline Jayroe Thomas and the late John Willie Thomas. Surviving in addition to his mother of Conway are: his widow, Mrs. Miriam Cox Thomas of Georgetown; a daughter, Miss Cheryl Jane Thomas of Georgetown; three sons, Marion Jayroe Thomas Jr. and William Edward Thomas, both of georgetown, and Harry Francis Thomas of Sheppard AFB, Tex.; four brothers, Willard Clyde Thomas of Columbia, John Willie Thomas of Charlotte, N. C., Pul McCloud Thomas of Pine Bluff, Ark. and Laurie D. Thomas of Conway; four sisters, Mrs. C. L. Newton Sr. and Mrs. R. B. Newton, both of Andrews, Mrs. W. T. Hickson of Conway and Mrs. E. A. [Note: Obit suggests he died July 23; tombstone has July 24.] --- Marion was first married,for a short time, to Clarice "Khaki" Lambert, who was born c. 1916, a daughter of Benjamin Franklin Lambert Sr. and Sarah Wilma Harrelson Lambert Scurry. After "Ben Jack's" death in 1919, Sarah married Kenneth Austin Scurry Sr. Clarice was subsequently known as Clarice Scurry.
