Throne, of Munden, Kas., was married to Marion Leland Crump, son of Mr. and Mrs. Fred Crump of Chester, Negr (sic)., Thursday afternoon, June 1, at the home of the brides parents. Preceding the ceremony Miss Mildred Strnad sang "Garden of Roses" At the close of this song Lohengrin's Wedding march was played by Miss Mabel Robbenhouse, a friend of the bride, and the bridal party passed down the stairway through the halls into the back parlor, and there under bower of garden roses, the Rev. Barber read the service which united Miss Throne and Mr. Crump in the holy bonds of wedlock. The bride wore a gown of white, hand embroidered, English batiste and carried an arm boquet (sic) of white roses. The groom was attired in the conventional black. Tables were laid for one hundred and ten guests, and immediately after congratulations a three course dinner was served. The brides room, parlor, gift room and dining room were profusely decorated in pink and white roses. The color scheme (pink and white) was not only carried out in the decorations but also in the dinner. The brides gifts were many and beautiful including hand painted china, linens, silver, Irish crochet, drawnwork and hand embroidered articles, rugs, furniture and several pieces of cut glass. Mr. Crump who is a graduate of the Chestea (sic) High School won a reputation in school as a "jolly good fellow" He is twenty-five years old and Is now engaged in farming. Miss Thorne the eldest daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Throne is a refined and accomplished lady of twenty-four. Mr. Crump had secured a farm near Chester, Nebr., furnished the home, and to this place he took his bride on the evening of the wedding. They were accompanied to their new home by many good wishes and Gods Blessings from parents and relatives. May their family jars be only; jars of jelly, jars of jam, jars of beef and potted ham, jars of pickles all home made, jars of orange marmalade, may these be the only jars known, in this newly made home, is the wish of the many friends who were there. ======================= The Belleville Telescope (Belleville, KS), Thursday, December 25, 1913; pg. 1 Marion Crump. Marion Crump living near Chester, in Thayer county (sic), passed away Thursday evening from typhoid fever at the age of 28 years. Mr. Crump is a son-in-low (sic) of P.E. Throne, living near Chester and formerly residing near Munden in this county, where he is quite well known. ====================== The Belleville Telescope (Belleville, KS), Thursday, December 25, 1913; pg. 8 Marion Leland Crump was born December 2, 1885, on the old home place near Chester, and died in the room where he was born, December 18, 1913, age 28 years, 16 days. He was taken sick November 12, and suffered a gradual decline until his death. June 1, 1911, at Munden, Kans. in the home of the bride's parents, he was united in marriage to Miss Florence E. Throne. At the age of 15, on August 26, 1900, he united with the Methodist church (sic) in Chester, and has been an active member of the church since then. He and his wife have been teachers in the Sabbath School for some time. This is the first death in his own family and also the first in the family of his wife. Mr. Crump was a member of the Odd Fellows lodge of Chester and enjoyed meeting with the members of the order. About thirty members of the Lodge attended the funeral and brought a beautiful "three link" floral design for the casket. Besides the father and mother, Mr. and Mrs. Fred Crump, he leaves of his father's family, one brother, Harry, of Lincoln, who has been in the railway mail service for some years. His wife has about her, not only Mr. Crump's family, but also her own family, consisting of Mr. and Mrs. P.A. Throne, a brother, Will and sister, Mabel, to comfort her in his hour of sorrow. A host of friends are also ready to serve her and the entire family. The funeral was held Sunday, December 21, at 2:30 p.m. at the Methodist church (sic), by the pastor, J.P. Yost, Rev. D.A. Youtsy assisting in the service. A great company of sympathizing friends gathered to pay tribute to the departed. ===== MUNDEN The many friends of Mr. M.L Crump were grieved to learn of his death near Chester last Thursday. Funeral services were held Sunday at Chester and interment being made in the Chester cemetery (sic).
