He was born July 28, 1932, at McCune a son of Lester M. and Ruth Ann (Neher) Bennett. He grew up and attended schools in McCune. He married Bessie Anna Riggs on June 6, 1954, in McCune. He was born July 28, 1932, at McCune a son of Lester M. and Ruth Ann (Neher) Bennett. He grew up and attended schools in McCune. He married Bessie Anna Riggs on June 6, 1954, in McCune. She survives of the home. He was a lifelong farmer at rural McCune. Marion was a member of the Church of Christ in McCune. He enjoyed his family, his church family and farming. Besides his wife, Bessie Anna Bennett of the home, he is survived by a son, Mark Ray Bennett and his wife, Linda, of McCune; daughters, Donna Jean Bennett Goedeke Mays and her husband, Doug, of Daingerfield, Texas, and Laura Jane Bennett Markle and her husband, Larry, of Coffeyville; grandchildren, Chris Mays and family, Tim Goedeke and family, Andrea Love and family, Adam Bennett and family, Jacob Bennett, Anna McBroom and famil and Alan Markle and family; 11 great-grandchildren; and a brother, Richard Wayne Bennett of McCune. He was preceded in death by a grandson, Abel Enoch Markle; a brother, James Allen Bennett; and a sister, Francis Ruth Bennett Smith. The service will be at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at the Church of Christ in McCune with Kevin Huddleston officiating. Burial will be in the McCune Cemetery. Friends may call after 9 a.m. Monday at Smith-Carson-Wall Funeral Home in Girard. In lieu of flowers, memorials are suggested to Hope Harbor Children's Home and these may be left at the church or the Smith-Carson-Wall Funeral Home, 518 W. St. John, P.O. Box 258, Girard, 66743.
