Description	:	Grand Island Independent, June 22, 1916 Boelus - Marius Petersen (sic), residing one mile northeast of Rockville, and son of Rasmus Petersen of Dannebrog, committed suicide this morning about 7:30 o'clock by hanging. He is a farmer between the ages of 30 and 35 years, and leaves a wife and five children to mourn the loss. No cause is known for the rash deed, he being in good health, well fixed financially. But when he did not return to the house for breakfast, she investigated and found him in the barn, he having breathed his last. No arrangements have been made for the funeral as yet. _____________________________________________________________________________ Dannebrog News, June 29, 1916, Page 1 Funeral services were held from the Danish Lutheran church at this place Saturday afternoon, Rev. Pedersen officiating. Interment was made in Oak Ridge cemetery. Marius Pedersen was born September 28, 1882, on the island Fyen, Denmark. He came to this country with his parents in 1886. On October 25, 1905 he was married to Elsie Steffensen of this place and the young couple went to housekeeping on their farm a mile west of Rockville. To this union were born three sons and two daughters, besides these a loving wife, he leaves two sisters to mourn the loss.
