Read More	Franklin County Cronicle, August 17, 2004: Marjorie "Mickie" Janet (Miller) Versaw entered into eternal rest with God, Saturday, August 7, 2004 in Republic, MO after a brief illness. Mickie was born January 22, 1932 in Waverly, IA to Pence and Charlotte (Wilson) Miller. She graduated from business school in Iowa and attended the American University in Washington DC. She was a librarian at the Library of Congress in Washington, DC where she met her future husband. On January 30, 1955 Mickie married her true love and companion, Keith E. Versaw in Jefferson City, IA. The couple made their home in rural Franklin, NE for several years. This union was blessed with five children, Frank, Susan, Rose, Nancy, and Wayne. The family then moved to Genoa, Blair, and Aurora, NE before moving to Hastings, NE from 1974 to 1993 where she worked at Sunnyside Nursing Home and Wal-Mart. In 1993 they retired to Republic, MO. Throughout her life, Mickie worked as a teacher, homemaker, worked on a couple of censuses and the polls and volunteered at the Ronald McDonald House and Hospice Home. She also served as a caregiver for her daughter, Nancy for many years. Mickie will be remembered for introducing the family to "depression peanuts", her wonderful cinnamon rolls and oatmeal bread; she was also an excellent seamstress. Left to treasure her memory are her husband of 49 years, Keith of Republic, MO; 2 sons, Frank Versaw and his wife Sharon of Colorado Springs, CO; Wayne Versaw and his wife Lori of College Station, TX: 2 daughters, Susan Pearson and her husband, Doug of Garden City, KS; Rose Johnson and her husband, Ken of Lincoln; 11 grandchildren, Andrew Versaw, Brooke and Miles Versaw, Katie and Danny Pearson, Diana, Jennifer, Laurie, Phillip, Jack and William Johnson; 2 brothers, Charles Miller and his wife, Lois of Pasadena, CA; Roger Miller and his wife Prue of Hanover, MA; numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. She will be missed greatly by all who knew her. In heaven, she is reunited with her parents, one daughter, Nancy Paige Versaw, one sister, Caroline Miller; and one sister-in-law Elaine Forgey. Memorial services were held at the First United Methodist Church in Franklin Friday, August 13 with Pastor Neil Kloppenborg officiating. Private interment was held in the Greenwood Cemetery in Franklin. Memorials are suggested to the Ronald McDonald House, 949 E Primrose St, Springfield, MO 65807.
