Description	:	Keith E. Versaw, 82 of Grand Island, died Sunday August 12, 2012 at the Grand Island Veterans Administration Medical Center. Keith resided at the Riverside Lodge. Throughout his life he faced challenges with faith, a deep sense of duty to country and family, and a profound work ethic. Obstacles were turned to opportunities. Versaw, 82 of Grand Island, died Sunday August 12, 2012 at the Grand Island Veterans Administration Medical Center. Keith resided at the Riverside Lodge. Throughout his life he faced challenges with faith, a deep sense of duty to country and family, and a profound work ethic. Obstacles were turned to opportunities. Keith wanted to be a meteorologist in the Air Force but gave his billet to another. If he had not done so, he would not have met his wife of 49 years, Marjorie Janet "Mickie" (Miller) Versaw. When blessed with a child with special needs he gave up farming and instead built a career making better seeds for others to grow. Keith was a proud alumnus of the University of Nebraska, an accomplished woodworker and also earned the status of Master Gardner. In retirement, Keith donated time to the Ronald McDonald House helping families with sick children. He was a long-time member of the American Legion and a Korean War era veteran. His unfulfilled bucket list included a visit to the Korean War Memorial in Washington D.C. Keith had five children, one who preceded him in death, eleven grandchildren and two great grandchildren. Keith imparted guidance to his children through quips that included "People can smell half-ass and lazy from a mile away". His family and friends shall miss him. Godspeed Keith.
