Marjorie Kathleen Hardesty, 81 years old, passed away at her home in Alma on Tuesday, August 7, 2018. Kathy was born July 31, 1937 in Woodland, Washington, the youngest of five children born to Robert Richard and Margaret Mary (Bender) Price. Kathy attended grade school in Avon, Minnesota and graduated from Gresham High School in Oregon, with the class of 1955. In January of 1956, she was united in marriage to Raymond Dailey in Portland, Oregon and to this union, they were blessed with three children: Colleen, Joan and David. The family made their home in California, where she was employed at the Pacific Telephone Company from 1965 - 1969. Raymond died in January of 1968. On June 12, 1971, she was united in marriage to Clifford Michael Hardesty at the Presbyterian Church in Apple Valley, California and in this union two children were born: Kelly and Jason. The family moved to Hesperia, California, where Kathy enjoyed making a home and raising her family. After Cliff's retirement, the couple returned to his home state of Nebraska in 1995, where they were proud Alma residents and humbled to have been once named Grand Marshall's for the annual Fourth of July parade. Kathy had a warm and generous heart with an amazing sense of humor. She enjoying reading, gardening, working on jigsaw puzzles, and a competitive, nightly game of Cribbage. Kathy was a member of the First Christian Church of Alma, where she was baptized; the Harlan County Extension Club; and a former member of the Presbyterian Church in Delta, Utah. Kathy loved her family and treasured all the time spent with her children and grandchildren. Besides her parents, Kathy was preceded in death by; her beloved husbands: Raymond and Cliff; a daughter, Kelly; as well as siblings: Helen Rippel, Patricia Achman, Ralph Grunke, and Harvey Grunke. Kathy leaves to celebrate her life; two daughters: Colleen Vecs and husband, John of Lake Havasu City, Arizona; and Joni Coe and her husband, Richard of Alma; two sons: David Dailey and wife, Betty of Las Vegas, Nevada; and Jason Hardesty and husband, Robb Thompson of Seattle, Washington; five grandchildren; Joshua, David, Gryphon, Verona, and Sara; sister-in-law, Judy Ward of Mesquite, Nevada; and a host of other relatives and many friends. There will be no visitation or memorial book signing as the family is honoring Kathy's wish for cremation. However, they would like to thank the citizens of Alma for their incredible warmth and kindness to Kathy, following the death of her beloved Cliff.
