The funeral service was at 10 a.m. Monday, May 1, 2006, at Feigum-VanLith Funeral Home in Pierre. Interment followed at Riverside Cemetery in Pierre. Mark Gideon Creager was born on June 14, 1939, in Los Angeles, Calif. to Lawrence and Emma Creager. At age 2, Mark moved to Pierre with his family. He attended school in Pierre until his graduation in 1957. Following high school, Mark enlisted in the United States Navy and served his country until his honorable discharge in 1963. On Feb. 2, 1963, he married the love of his life, Jenny Scherr, in Roscoe. Mark and Jenny raised their family of three children, Theresa, Grant and Lynda, in Pierre. Mark was employed at Harding Motors as a parts manager and at the Department of Commerce, Weights and Measures, until he moved to Rapid City in 1985. After he relocated, Mark continued to work for the Department of Commerce until his retirement. Mark will be fondly remembered for his love of woodworking and the beautiful projects he completed for his family. Additionally, Mark had a passion for the Chevy Coupe he bought while still in high school. Mark had fully restored the car, which will remain a treasure for his family. Mark also enjoyed the many peacocks and wildlife gracing his land at his rural home in Rapid City. He is survived by his three children, Theresa Miller (Kevin) of Rapid City, Grant Creager (Gina) of North Platte, Neb., and Lynda Wagner (Ron) of Pierre; 10 grandchildren, Jared Stalley, Jenny Stalley, Jacie Miller, Andrew Creager, Amanda Creager, Zac Creager, Meagan Creager, Ashley Creager, Jacob Wagner and Austin Wagner; siblings Joel Creager of Denver, Colo., Lynda Clarke of Indiana; and Bob Etzkorn of Custer, whom Mark considered a son.
