She went to be with her Heavenly Father on May 29, 2021, at Thayer County Health Services in Hebron, at the age of 76. Marla was baptized on November 19, 1944, at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Byron. Marla was confirmed on March 22, 1959, at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Byron. She attended school in Chester and graduated May 23, 1963. She has been a member of Faith Lutheran Church, Hebron, since 1988. Marla was married to Myron Gehle on June 30, 1963. To this union were born four children: Monte Joel, Myland Jeff, Michael James and Misty Joy. Marla married Delton B. Braithwait on November 9, 1989. They shared many good years together. Marla faced many challenges in her life but no matter what she faced, she held strong to her faith. Most important to her were her children, she cherished the time spent with them. She also enjoyed gardening and making things grow. She is preceded in death by parents, Edwin and Ruby; son, Monte Gehle and infant granddaughter, Mickala Rene'e Gehle. She is survived by her husband of 32 years, Delton Braithwait of Hebron; sons, Myland (Becky) Gehle of Republic, Ks., Michael (Tammy) Gehle of Hardy; daughter, Misty Gehle and companion Paul Fecktmeister of Laramie, Wy; daughter-in-law, Rita Gehle of Chester; grandchildren, great-grandchildren, along with four siblings, other relatives and dear friends. A small funeral service will be held at Faith Lutheran Church on June 2. Officiant will be Pastor Greg Schaffer. Interment will be at the Chester Cemetery.
