She grew up in the Volga and Bruce areas and graduated from Volga High School. Marlys Fish was united in marriage December 3, 1950 to Eugene V. Ibach in Volga, SD. She worked as a secretary, and later for Hughes County as Courthouse Assistant and Assistant Deputy Clerk. The majority of her married life was spent in Pierre. She enjoyed spending winters in Apache Junction, Az. She was a member of the American Legion Auxiliary, Chaplain, RSVP, and Hospital info desk attendant. She enjoyed spending time with her family and her friends of the VFW Auxiliary and Senior Center. Marlys is survived by her husband Eugene V. Ibach of Pierre; one daughter Pamela (Don) Hoepfer of Pierre; one son Bradley of Portland, OR; two grandchildren Sarah (Rob) Bowen of Sahuarita, AZ and Sonya (Jeremy) Gilman, of Haslet, TX; three sisters Mavis Vostad, Volga, SD, Karen (Bob) Steptoe, Miller, SD and Sandy (Leroy) Atkins, Huron, SD; one brother Robert Fish, Green Valley, AZ; one sister-in-law Wanda (Herb) Lokken, White, SD; two brothers-in-law Wendell (Doris) Ibach, Spokane, WA and Clifton (Janet) Ibach, Paway, CA and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband's parents, Esther and Donald Ibach: two brothers-in-law Robert Vostad and Leonard Ibach. Memorials may be directed to the First United Methodist Church in Pierre (117 N Central) and RSVP of Pierre.
