Description	:	Mr Keller was born May 12,1892 at Beresford, the son of William and Adeline Keller. Services for Marshall Edward (Pat) Keller, 72, native of this area who died March 26 in Dakota Hospital, were Monday at the Elmore-Wagner Funeral Home. The Rev Claire Mitchell officiated. Burial was in Bluff View Cemetery. Mabel Hanson was the organist. Casketbearers were Lyman Hinchliff, Gus Piersol, Frank Daller, Joe Delaney, William Delaney and Cliff Ficher. Pat was a deafmute and lived in Vermillion all his life. He had a house out at the home place where he lived for several years until he moved to Vermillion. At his house in Vermillion he had a string by his front door that you pulled when you went to visit him. This string was connected to a stick that would drop on the metal headboard of his bed and wake him if he was sleeping. He had a house down below the hill and lived there until he moved uptown. He had attended school for the deaf in Sioux Falls. He had his own car and would drive out to see Lee and Irene. He would lay his hand on the hood of his car to see if it was running. He would go down to Lincoln, Ne. and stay with his sister Mary. He enjoyed his time there and enjoyed spending time with the family. But in the end he would always get homesick for Vermillion and return.
