Description	:	Dayton Review May 15, 1890 Grandma Barquist, of whom mention was made last week by our correspondent as being very sick, died at the home of John Barquist last Sunday at three o'clock and was buried on Tuesday at two o'clock, Rev. Grandma Barquist was born in Sweden, Sept. 13, 1810. She, in company with her husband, emigrated to America in 1857; located to Illinois, and from there they moved to Swede Bend in 1859, where they resided until the sudden death of her husband in the Swedish Lutheran church some fifteen years ago, since which time Mrs. Barquist has visited with her children, at length making her home with John. Five children survive her - George and Peter at Des Moines, John and Andrew here and one daughter in Montana. From childhood up to her death she has been a constant member of the Lutheran church. She died believing in the prophet of the Lord that whoever comes to him he will unto wise cast on. The Freeman May 14, 1890 STRATFORD Died, Sunday, May 11, 1890, at the home of her son, Mr. John Barquist, Mrs. Martha Barquist, aged 80 years. Grandma Barquist was born in Sweden in 1810, and came to this country in 1850, settling in Swede Bend, Webster county, Iowa, where she has since resided. She was a member of the Lutheran church, and a devoted christian. She leaves four sons and one daughter. She was highly respected by all who knew her.
