Description	:	Martha A. Britt was born near Clinton, Wisconsin, December 20, 1866 and passed away September 14, 1936, at Washington, D.C., at the age of 69 years, 8 months and 24 days. She came to Nebraska with her parents in the year 1881, locating on a farm east of Bazile Mills. She attended Gates Academy at Neligh, Nebr. and taught school at Plum Valley, riding horseback to and from school each day from her home on the farm east of Bazile Mills, fording swollen streams as there were no bridges, riding through snow drifts and like her husband, the late Dr.... Read More	Martha A. Britt was born near Clinton, Wisconsin, December 20, 1866 and passed away September 14, 1936, at Washington, D.C., at the age of 69 years, 8 months and 24 days. She came to Nebraska with her parents in the year 1881, locating on a farm east of Bazile Mills. She attended Gates Academy at Neligh, Nebr. and taught school at Plum Valley, riding horseback to and from school each day from her home on the farm east of Bazile Mills, fording swollen streams as there were no bridges, riding through snow drifts and like her husband, the late Dr. Britt, endured many hardships of pioneer days. Martha Warner was married to Dr. W.H. Britt at Bazile Mills on November 22, 1887. This union was blessed with three children; Percival, Cladwell and Marcilene. In the year 1889 they moved to Creighton at which place they resided until the demise of Dr. Britt, November 1, 1929. In January 1930, Mrs. Britt moved to Washington, D.C., where she made her home with her daughter, Miss Marcilene, until the time of her death. Mrs. Britt was a member of the Congregational church in Creighton and a member of the Royal Neighbors Lodge. Mrs. Britt is survived by her three children; Cladwell of Creighton; Miss Marcilene and Percival of Washington , D.C.; two grandchildren, William and Yvonne, son and daughter of Percival. Two sisters, Mrs. Emilie Spink of Arlington, Va. and Mrs. Minnie Kennedy of Washington, D.C.; two brothers, Ernest Warner of Bunnell, Fla. and Rudolph Warner of West Palm Beach, Fla. One brother, Willard W. Warner, preceded her in death. The remains arrived in Creighton Thursday afternoon accompanied by her daughter, Miss Marcilene. Funeral services were held Friday afternoon at 1:30 at the Federated church with Rev. Anderson officiating. The casket was surrounded with many beautiful floral tributes.
