Description	:	Rites for Clad Britt, 73, Conducted Thursday Funeral services for Clad Britt, a lifelong resident of Creighton, were conducted Thursday morning, Dec. 10 at Hengstler's Chapel. The Rev. Richard T. Hartshorn, minister of the Congregational-Baptist Church, officiated. Burial was in Greenwood Cemetery. Pallbearers were Max Copper, Richard McManigal, John Crosley, Fred Lafrenz, William Bahr and Joe Radosti. Cladwell Thomas Britt, son of Dr. Wm. Pallbearers were Max Copper, Richard McManigal, John Crosley, Fred Lafrenz, William Bahr and Joe Radosti. Cladwell Thomas Britt, son of Dr. Wm. H. and Martha Britt, was born at Creighton, June 21, 1891. He received his education in the local school and later went to Valparaiso, Ind., where he learned to tune and repair pianos and pipe organs. In 1914 he was employed by Schmoeller and Mueller in Omaha and Sioux City, Ia. During that time he traveled in four states. In April 1917 he enlisted in the Army and during WWI served in France two years. He returned to the United States in September 1920. For the next 10 years, he was employed by the Bank of Creighton. In the fall of 1930 he was employed by the State Banking Department and was sent to the Center State Bank. In February, 1931, he left the banking department and was elected cashier of the newly organized Center State Bank. He remained there until 1956, when he retired. In 1959 he again became associated with the Center bank. Mr. Britt married Alice Roemer on July 31, 1928. He was a member of the Congregational Church of Creighton, having been baptized when a child. He was a charter member of the Creighton American Legion and Veterans of Foreign Wars posts. Surviving are his wife and one sister, Marcilene A. Britt of Washington, D.C.
