May the Lord comfort and support all the bereaved ones, and especially the father and mother in their sad bereavement and great affliction. May they all meet the little Mattie May above, where there will be no more pain or sorrow to endure, but where all is joy and peace and love. Oh, how we miss thee, Mattie, While thy spirit soars on high, We are left to mourn for thee With many a grievous sigh. In many a home around me A sweet child voice I hear; The mother knows no sorrow, Because her babe is near. But mine has gone forever, What can I know of joy, Since death from me hast taken My little darling Mattie. We are thankful to our neighbors and friends who so kindly assisted us during the illness and death of our child. Our hearts are enshrouded in sadness, but the great kindness and the tender sympathy shown us by all who knew of our loss and sorrow, is a bright star in the midnight of gloom. We also thank the ladies for the flowers. May your pathway through life be as thickly strewn with flowers as ours have been with sorrow, is the wish of James and Elizabeth Wilson, Grand Parents, Aunts and Uncles.
