Murphy in that village and no hopes are entertained for her recovery. Read More	"FOUND UNCONSCIOUS IN BED YESTERDAY MORNING" "Miss Alice Webster of Berrien Center, Stricken with Apoplexy" On the eve of moving into a new bungalow which for months has been the object of her desire, Miss Alice Webster of Berrien Center lies in an unconscious condition as the result of a Stroke of Apoplexy at the home of J.J. Murphy in that village and no hopes are entertained for her recovery. When Miss Murphy, who is a lady about fifty years of age, did not arise at her accustomed hour, Mr. Murphy, at whose home she was temporarily residing, went to her soon to call her. His repeated calls met with no response and feeling alarmed, entered her room, finding her upon her bed, lying in a comatose condition. No encouragement is given to her many friends. The new home into which Miss Webster was to have moved next week, has been completed and is one of the prettiest residences in the north end of the village." (date and paper unknown). "HER LOSS MOURNED, MISS ALICE WEBSTER PASSES AWAY AFTER SHORT ILLNESS AT HOME OF HER SISTER, MRS. O.C. JINKINS" At the old homestead which was her birth place, near Berrien Center, on the evening of December 22, the spirit of Martha Alice Webster passed to the Great Beyond. In the death of Miss Webster a truly great and noble woman has been removed from our midst and her sudden departure fills with sorrow the hearts of many friends who knew her only to love and respect her for many excellent traits of character. Her life, though simple and unostentatious, was loyal and true, she always looked on the bright side of everything: was conscientious, kind and lovable, one whom to know was to esteem and love; one whose unselfish devotion to her fiends, her neighbors, in fact to all with whom she came in contact, challenged our admiration and respect. To those who knew her best her memory will be ever precious and her example of an unselfish life is one worthy of emulation. The funeral, under the direction of Mr. and Mrs. E.J. Robinson of Dowagiac, was held from the home of her sister, Mrs. O.C. Jinkins, Monday noon. The remains were interred beside those of her father and mother in the South Berrien Center Cemetery (Union)." Obit date and paper unknown.
