Description	:	Mattie's parents were James Dolin and Mary Lindsay. Where are they buried ? Mary describes her daughter as a little girl with reddish brown curls, brown eyes and even features. Her mother was right, even at the age of 80, Mattie was still pretty. Mattie was the 4th daughter. She spent her early years in Va. At the age of 13 she moved to Greenbrier County, Va. (now W.Va.) They married and lived at their home on the corner of Hunter and Market Streets. Dr. Foy had his office in the front yard. After Ben died, Mattie was pursued by Edmund Martin. He won the Widow Foy and they were married in 1880. They lived in the Foy house for a while. In Dec. 1889 Mattie and Edmund bought from the Foy heirs a plantation at the junction of Beaver Island Creek and the Dan River so they called it "Beaver Dan Plantation" and they lived there in prosperity for many years.
