Martha Elizabeth Loghry was born at Wayne, Ia., April 12, 1878. She came to Fillmore county, Nebraska as a child with her parents, the late Mr. and Mrs. Alvin Loghry, pioneer settlers near Geneva. Read More	WALKER, MARTHA ELIZABETH—Mrs. Cyrus Walker passed away at the Geneva General Hospital August 27, 1953, at the age of 75 years, 4 months and 15 days. She entered the hospital August 3. Martha Elizabeth Loghry was born at Wayne, Ia., April 12, 1878. She came to Fillmore county, Nebraska as a child with her parents, the late Mr. and Mrs. Alvin Loghry, pioneer settlers near Geneva. She attended school in District 12, and the Geneva city school. She was baptized and taken into membership in the Geneva Methodist Church at an early age. She was united in marriage to Cyrus S. Walker April 13, 1904. To this union were born five children, two sons and three daughters. She and her husband resided on their farm west of Geneva, where she devoted her life to rearing her children and caring for the home. Mrs. Walker was a member of the Daughters of Union Veterans, and had been active until recent years. She was a member of the Geneva Township Woman’s Club more than 25 years. Mr. and Mrs. Walker retired from the farm and moved to Geneva in 1947. For two short years they enjoyed modernizing and improving their home. Then Mr. Walker suffered a stroke, and became bedfast and Mrs. Walker spent the remainder of her life caring for him. Mrs. Walker is survived by her husband; two daughters, Carmen, Mrs. George Schropfer of Geneva and Dorothy, Mrs. Ray Serk of Edgar; two sons, Ray of Otis, Col., and Francis of near Geneva; 11 grandchildren; one brother, Will Loghry of Clay Center; several nieces and nephews and many friends. One daughter, Pearl, Mrs. Harold McDonald, preceded her in death March10, 1953. Funeral services were held from the Hrubesky-Farmer Funeral Home in Geneva at 2:30 p.m. Sunday, August 30. Rev. Maude V. Mann of Lushton officiated. Mrs. Gerald Pickerell sang with Mrs. Robert Waring accompanist. Interment was in the Geneva Cemetery. The Nebraska Signal September 3rd, 1953 page 7.
