The body will lie in state at the Beardsley funeral home until services Wednesday at two o'clock at the Coal Glen church. The Rev. Archie Beals, will officiate. Burial will be in Coal Glen cemetery. [2] & [4] MARTHA UMBENHOWER Martha Umbenhower, daughter of Henry and Ellen Pelton, was born at Attica, Iowa, April 1, 1862, and died at Chariton, at the age of 86 years, two months and 19 days. Her entire life was spent in Lucas and Marion counties. She was united in marriage to John C. Umbenhower February 9, 1881, at Knoxville. To this union five daughters and one son were born all of whom survive. They are Bessie Hall, Sabra McMannis and Gladys Storm, all of Chariton; Alverda Hargar, of Newton, and Nelson Umbenhower, of Newton, also 33 grandchildren and 26 great-grandchildren and a host of friends and relatives. Mrs. Umbenhower has been a member of the Coal Glen church for many years. She was a good mother and a neighbor always willing to lend a helping hand. She will be greatly missed by her family and neighbors. Final rites in charge of the Rev. W. A. Samp, were held Wednesday, June 23, at 2 o'clock at the Coal Glen church. Burial was made in the Coal Glen cemetery.
