Description	:	John Wray and family and other Wray relatives received the sad message from Fresno, Calif., last Saturday that Mrs. D. Wray had passed away that day after a serious illness. The body is expected to arrive at Lenox Friday and no definite plans have yet been made, but probably funeral services will be held at Salem on Saturday. Printed in the Adams County Free Press, March 16, 1918 The remains of Mrs. D. C. Wray arrived in Lenox Friday evening, March 15, accompanied by her daughter and husband, Mr. and Mrs. C. J. Simpson, of Fresno, Calif., and were taken to her old country home and the funeral was held Saturday afternoon at 2 o'clock at the Salem Brethren Church, conducted by her former pastor, Homer Caskey, then her body was laid to rest beside her dear companion who passed away four years ago. Martha Harader was born at Mt. Etna 63 years ago and on September 8, 1878 she was married to D. C. Wray and had always lived in Salem vicinity until after the death of her husband. She then went west and made her home with her youngest daughter Cora. Her six children all survive her. Her eldest son Huston, and family, of Irricana, Alberta, Can., came to visit her just a few days before her sickness and remained with her through her last illness. To know Mrs. Wray meant to love her. She was a very kind, whole-souled, Christian woman, being one of the charter members of the Salem church and a very earnest worker in its beginning, 'although quite in her ways, yet always willing to help a needy friend and especially in sickness. Words cannot praise her enough. She will be remembered here by a number of relatives and friends an one who has been called to a higher service.
