Martha was born Mary 5, 1899, at Pierce County to Frederic and Emilie (Strelow) Splittgerber. Martha was born Mary 5, 1899, at Pierce County to Frederic and Emilie (Strelow) Splittgerber. She grew up in Pierce County and graduated from Zion Lutheran Parochial School and Theison High School at Pierce. Martha clerked in a Pierce General Store until 1917 when she married. On April 22, 1917 Martha married L. Clark Moore at Ft. Riley, Ks. Her husband passed away on May 9, 1964. The couple lived in Des Moines, Ia. They then lived and owned a pharmacy in Verdigre, Pierce and Blair. In 1958, they moved to Omaha and worked at the former Vergies Clothing Store. Martha moved to Hooper in 1961 and had beem living in Lincoln since 1996. Martha was a member of Redeemer Lutheran Church in Hooper and American Legion Auxiliary at Hooper and belonged to several card clubs at Hooper. She was a former member of Zion Lutheran Church at Pierce, American Legion Auxiliary at Pierce and Pierce Women's Club. Survivors include a brother, Herbert and wife Frances Splittgerber of Omaha; nieces, Beverly Groeteke of Fremont, (who carried for her) and Janet Ottenan of Humble, Tx., and several other nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews. Martha was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; eight brothers; and four sisters. Funeral services were held March 13 at Redeemer Lutheran Church at Hooper. The Rev. Greg Berger officiated. Burial was in Hooper Cemetery in Hooper. Pallbearers were Bill and Jared Kennedy, Bob Groeteke and Edgar Splittgerber. Memorials are suggested to Redeemer Lutheran Church in Hooper.
