Marvin Kent Peterson, son of Kenneth and Lenore Peterson, was born at Fort Dodge, Iowa, on August 18, 1943. He was baptized on November 14, 1943, by Pastor W.C. Ekeberg, at Emanuel Lutheran Church, Dayton. Marvin was reared on the family farm south of Dayton, and attended the Boxholm schools. With his family he attended Sunday School and Worship Services at Emanuel Lutheran Church, and here was confirmed on Palm Sunday, March 30, 1958. In the spring of 1961, Marvin was graduated from Grand Community High School at Boxholm. Last fall he was enrolled at the State University of Iowa, at Iowa City, with plans for a major in Business Administration. This promising young life, however was destined to b brief. Marvin passed away last Thursday, April 19, 1962, at 12:35 a.m., in a hospital in Iowa City, as the result of injuries received in an auto accident about an hour earlier on a highway near Iowa City. Marvin is preceded in death by his mother, Lenore Skoglund Peterson, who passed away on April 27, 1948. He is survived by his parents, Kenneth and Gwen Peterson; by two brothers, Mark, his twin and classmate at S.U.I., and Craig; two sisters, Rita, a student nurse at Lutheran Hospital, Des Moines, and Susan; his grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. J.E. Skoglund; other relatives and many friends.
