He was born July 10, 1925, at rural DeWitt, and graduated from DeWitt High School in 1943. He married Lila Mahloch on June 6, 1948, at First Trinity Lutheran Church, rural Beatrice. They lived and farmed in the DeWitt area until moving to Beatrice in 1961. He was born July 10, 1925, at rural DeWitt, and graduated from DeWitt High School in 1943. He married Lila Mahloch on June 6, 1948, at First Trinity Lutheran Church, rural Beatrice. They lived and farmed in the DeWitt area until moving to Beatrice in 1961. He worked for various freight companies and then worked at Southeast Community College in the custodial department for the past 15 years. He was a member of the St. Paul Lutheran Church of Beatrice. He enjoyed woodworking and making things for other people. Survivors: wife, Lila; sons, Dennis Brolhorst and wife Vicki of Beatrice and Robert Brolhorst and wife Brenda of Lincoln; three daughters, Barbara Oltman and husband Gilbert of Pickrell, Cheryl Wirth and husband Stan of Beatrice and Yvonne Brolhorst of Lincoln; 10 grandchildren, Karla Lockwood, Craig Doss, Shannon Sell and husband Matt, Ryan Wirth, Tiffany (Mencl) Quicke and husband Michael, Jennifer Brolhorst, Jason Brolhorst, Jeremy Brolhorst, Brandon Brolhorst and Paige Brolhorst; four great-grandchildren; brother, Virgil Brolhorst and wife Marilyn of Beatrice; sisters, Evelyn Rahe of Swanton, Berdina Oltman and husband Delmar of Hallam, Verna Kiburz of Kearney, and Joan Burger and husband Leonard of DeWitt; nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, William and Lena (Tegeler) Brolhorst; and one grandson, Ryan Brolhorst. Memorial service: 11 a.m. Wednesday, Oct. 20, St. Paul Lutheran Church, 10th and High streets, Beatrice, Pastor Douglas D. Irmer and Pastor Timothy W. Wagner officiating. Burial: 10 a.m. Wednesday, Evergreen Home Cemetery, Beatrice. Family prayer service: 10:45 a.m. Wednesday, fellowship room of the church. A memorial has been established to St. Paul Lutheran Church, with Wilbur and Bonnie Oestreich in charge. There will be no viewing but a register book for signatures will be available at the funeral home until 9 p.m. Tuesday evening and then at the church one hour preceding the service on Wednesday.
