Dimond, well known Osborne county lady, devoted wife and mother, passed away Saturday, August 14 at the Haven of Rest Home where she had been critically ill for several weeks. Mr. and Mrs. Dimond made Osborne their home for several years prior to hs death some years ago. Of the six children surviving three are living in this community, two sons, Roy of Alton and W. W. Dimond of Osborne and a daughter, Mrs. Gertie Range of Osborne. Mary Agnes Elnora Conn, daughter of Henry and Mary Conn, was born March 6, 1867 at Centerville, Iowa and pass away at the Haven of Rest at Osborne, Kansas at the age of 87 years, five months and eight days. She came to Kansas in a covered wagon when she was a small child. On Oct. 6, 1884 she was united in marriage to J. W. Dimond in Osborne county. To this union seven children were born, one son dying in infancy. She was coverted in the United Brethren Church at Lawrence Creek and joined the Burr Oak Wesleyan Methodist church in 1896. Nora has been an invalid for the last 18 years. In August 1952, she suffered a stroke while living at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Edith Howell in California. She was returned to the Haven of Rest in Osborne, Oct. 13, 1952 and there spent the remaining days of her life confined to her bed. Loving hands did all that was possible to make her last days happy ones. She was preceded in death by the husband J. W. Dimond: and infant son: two sisters, Mrs. Effie Atkinson and Mrs. Ida Azeltine: and two brothers, Otis and Eddie Conn. She leaves the following relatives to mourn her passing: two daughters, Mrs. Gertie Range of Osborne and Mrs. Edith Howell, Whitter, California. four sons, C. R. of Little River, Roy of Alton, W. E. of Osborne, and Francis of Whitter, Calif: 31 grand childrn: 40 great-grandchildren: two sisters, Mrs. Bertha McClure of Gaylord and Mrs. Jessie Arnold of Alton: and two brothers, Will Conn of Harlan and Theodore of Downs. Funeral services were held at 10:30 a.m. Monday, Aug 16,1954 from the Lawrence Creek church with the Rev. Dale Campbell officiating. Music was furnished by Rev. and Mrs. Emer Brannon and Mrs. Lowell Norris. Interment was made in the Butler Cemetery with the following casket bearers: Orval Range, Ray Range, Clifton Dimond, Cecil Dimond, Daniel Courter, and John Favinger.∼Source; Micro Fishe # 6100537 (4) FHL .
