Description	:	Mary Ann Friesen was born to Min. David H. and Anna Hoeppner Dyck on January 19, 1930, on the old home place south of Hillsboro, Kansas. She peacefully passed away in Moundridge, Kansas on July 24, 2016. She was baptized into the Church of God in Christ, Mennonite by her father. She spent her first 13 years in Hillsboro, Kansas, moving with her parents to Winton, California in 1943. To comply with California law, she had to go back to school. She was baptized into the Church of God in Christ, Mennonite by her father. She spent her first 13 years in Hillsboro, Kansas, moving with her parents to Winton, California in 1943. To comply with California law, she had to go back to school. After completing high school, she spent nine months in Kansas where she started nurses' training. Because of a back injury, she was unable to continue her schooling. She later served in Mexico for eight months in the hospital at Camp 45. Mary Ann married John G. Friesen on June 3, 1951, They were married for 51 years. They had 7 children. In 2012 Mary Ann moved to Moundridge Manor in Moundridge, Kansas where she was cared for the last 4 years of her life. Funeral services were held on July 30, 2016 at the West Valley Mennonite Church, Willows, California. Interment was in the Willows Cemetery.∼MARY ANN FRIESEN Mary Ann Friesen was born to David H. and Anna Heppner Dyck on January 19, 1930, in Hillsboro, Kansas. She peacefully passed away in Moundridge, Kansas, on July 24, 2016. She married John G Friesen in 1951, sharing life for 51 years until John's death in 2002. She leaves to cherish fond memories, her children: Chester and Wanda, Willows, California; Margaret and Randy Toews, Almena, Wisconsin; Kenneth and Rhoda, Butte City, California; Anita and Wallis Unruh, Glenn, California; Linda, Willows, California; Keith and Michelle, Glenn, California; Janelle and Gary Becker, Halstead, Kansas; one sister: Martha Mae and Richard Penner, Moundridge, Kansas; sisters-in-law: Theda Dyck, Verna Dyck, Dorothy Wedel, Delma Nikkel, and Millie Schmidt. Viewing will be from 7-9pm on Friday, July 29, at the West Valley Church, 1935 Co Rd B, Willows. A funeral service is planned for 10am on Saturday, July 30, 2016 at the West Valley Church. Arrangements are under the direction of F.D. Sweet & Son Mortuary, Willows. Published in Chico Enterprise-Record on July 28, 2016
