Haltom and Elizabeth Quinn OBITUARY THE CHARITON HERALD-PATRIOT Chariton, Iowa Thursday, March 10, 1955 MARY HALTOM CACKLER Mary Ann Haltom, oldest daughter of William and Elizabeth Haltom, was born in Lucas county, Iowa, March 25, 1872, and died at her home west of Norwood, March 5, 1955, at the age of 82 years, 11 months and eight days. She was united in marriage to Aaron Cackler April 9, 1891. To this union was born one daughter, Mrs. Jesse Crooks. She leaves to mourn her passing, Mrs. Jesse Crooks of Indianola, three grandchildren, Carolyn Crooks of Indianola, Gerald Crooks and wife of Chariton, Wilma Bales and husband of Des Moines, two great-grandchildren, Ken Dee Crooks of Chariton and A/1C Ronald Gene Bales, who is stationed with the U.S. Air Force in Iceland. Also one step-sister, Mrs. John Haltom and one half-sister, Mrs. Jasper Crooks, both of Norwood, besides a host of other relatives and friends. Those preceding her in death were her husband, mother, father, one brother and sister, her son-in-law, Jesse Crooks and one great-grandchild, Keith Laverne Crooks. Funeral services were held Tuesday at 2 p.m. at the Norwood E.U.B. church. The Rev. Clayton Paxton and the Rev. Pearl Sams officiated. Interment was in the Norwood cemetery.
