Read More	Glasco Sun, Dec. 18, 1930, page 1: Mary Dillon The community again mourns the passing of one of her most respected citizens, Mrs. Mary Dillon, who for more than half a century has resided here and died December 4 at her home south east of Glasco. On June 1, 180 (missing number) Mrs. Dillon with her husband and family came to Kansas from Iowa with some of the very early settlers when Cloud county was an uninviting bare plain with no homes or improvements upon it, and settled on their homestead south east of Glasco and for more than 60 years lived a quiet and Christian life there with her family, first enduring the hardships and Privations that only a pioneer knows so well. Such faith, endurance and industry can well be remembered by those of us who note the passing of the first settlers in this section of the west. By frugality and hard work, she helped to make the old homestead upon which she and her husband settled to blossom as the rose and give place for a good home. To the pioneer mothers this generation owes a great debt and respect. Mary Dillon was born in Killomeroe County, Kerry, Ireland in 1844 and in 1861 she was married to Michael Dillon and a year later came to America. She is survived by one brother, John Downey of Glasco, her children, Mrs. D. Driscoll, Oklahoma City; Mrs. Julia Bollwood, Kansas City; Mrs. M.E. Brady, Topeka, Kansas; Mrs. Walter Kimerling, Simla, Colo.; Charles, Miss Margaret, James and Michael of Glasco; Mrs. W.H. Richard of Aurora and Mrs. Agnes Pilcher, Salina, twenty-four grandchildren and seven great grandchildren. Funeral services with a Requiem High Mass were held at St, Mary's church Tuesday morning, Father Wolf officiating, assisted by Father McErlean of Concordia, and Father Lenaghan of Minneapolis. A beautiful Requiem Mass was sung by the Belleville choir and interment was made in St. Mary's Cemetery.
