Mary Ann died on January 12, 1948, and was laid to well-earned rest in the cemetery her own father helped to lay out nearly a century ago." Unknown paper - probably Manchester Press. Mrs. W. B. Robinson of Silver Creek Dies at Age 81 Mrs. W. B. Robinson, whose entire life of 81 years had been spent at Silver Creek in Adams township, this county, entered into rest at 10:00 o'clock in the morning of Monday, Jan, 12, 1948, after the briefest of illinesses. Mrs. Robinson, who had been in feeble health for the past two years, was nevertheless able to be up and about until the last, most affectionately cared for by her daughter-in-law, Mrs. Anthony Robinson, a close neighbor. She fell asleep with no apparent change in her physical condition, and within a few minutes met the great change that comes to us all. Funeral services for Mrs. Robinson were held yesterday afternoon at the Silver Creek Methodist church, the Rev. Paul Heath, officiating, and were very largely attended. Interment was made in the pioneer cemetery near the church. Mary Ann, a daughter of the late Anthony and Lucy Norris Swindle, pioneers of Adams township, was born on the parental farm at Silver Creek Aug. 3, 1866, and grew to young womanhood in the settlement. She attended the rural schools of the township, Epworth seminary and Cornell college, and on Feb., 25, 1392, was united in marriage with W. B. Robinson, member of another pioneer family of that locality, which has been their home for the past 55 years. Mr. & Mrs. Robinson celebrated their golden wedding on Feb. 25, 1942. An Interesting incident in the life of Mrs. Robinson is that last fall, during celebration of the 80th anniversary of the Silver Creek Methodist church, she attended the services as the first child baptized in that church. Mrs. Robinson is survived by her husband; a daughter, Mrs. Lucy Baird of Council Bluffs, la., three sons, Milton M. and Anthony T. of Silver Creek and Lloyd I. Robinson of Algona, Iowa; a sister,. Mrs. Bessie Henderson of Manchester; and four brothers - Frank Swindle of Silver Creek, Charles of Cherokee, Anthony of Tacoma, Wash., and Dr. R. N. Swindle of Chicago, Ill. She was preceded in death in addition to her parents, by a son, W. Byron Robinson, who passed on in March, 1935. A long, useful and sacrificial life ends with the death of Mrs. Robinson. That life was devoted unstintingly to the care of her home and the fostering of her children, and she made of that home a center of openhanded hospitality, good cheer, and pious precept. Every task that fell to her hand, and they were beyond numbering, was performed with the ready willingness of a sunny nature and warm heart, and the trials and discouragements of life, inseparable from one of such great age, were met by her with unfailing courage and resignation. She was in the highest sense of the word a pioneer wife and mother, beloved not only in her home but as well in the community of which she was so long a part. Her death leaves her husband to walk the sunset trail alone, and sympathy for the family will find him the center of condolence. In her last sleep Mrs. Robinson will long be sadly missed and lovingly remembered by family, neighbors and friends, whose own lives will not be too long to dull the memory of her own.
