She was also preceded in death by her two husbands Russell Edgar Brenneman and Alvin Briton Frye, and two brothers Bernard Carl Opel, James Peter Opel, one sister Verna Elizabeth Opel Glotfelty; three half brothers Blaine Elwood Opel, Simon Charles Opel, Robert Eugene Opel; two half sisters: Melda Opel Georg, Norma Bernardine Opel Markley two step mothers: Elsie Mae Beitzel Opel, Anna Ethel Ash Opel. One cousin Phyllis Ferne Opel Bowser. Mary had a grade school education and was a homemeker. She enjoyed weaving rugs and gardening. She worked at various establishments at Deep Creek Lake and Oakland for over 40 years. She was married on October 14, 1945, at Frostburg,Md. to Russell Edgar Brenneman. Russell and Mary lived on a farm at Bittinger Md. She was a member of Emmanual Lutheran Chruch where she was a Sunday school teacher, a Bible School teacher, and supporter of the Luther League. She was also very active in the Northern Band Boosters. Russell died in 1993. Russell and Mary had three daughters: Carolyn Sue Brenneman Reiss and husband (Royce); Doris Louise Brenneman Kerns (William),Brookeville, MD and Ruth Virginia Brenneman Detrick (Lou) of Eighty Four, Pa. On June 2, 1994 Mary was married to Alvin Briton Frye. He was born in Saltville, Va, in 1915. He was a retired Auto Mechanic. He died May 28, 1998, at Accident, MD. and was buried in Saltville, Va. Mary lived on the farm until she retired to Good Will Mennonite Home in Grantsville where she died August 5, 2012.
