Description	:	Melda Eileen Opel was the 6th child born to Simon Earle Opel she was the 2nd child of his second wife, Elsie Mae Beitzel Opel. Melda's nickname was 'Bep' She graduated High School in Accident, MD and was a graduate in nurse's training at Memorial Hospital in Cumberland, MD. She was married to Richard Lakin Trexler in Cumberland, MD. They had one daughter Geni Rae Trexler, born Aug 15, 1948 in Meyersdale,Somerset Co, Pa. On Aug 18 1956 she married Irvin Kenneth Georg in Garrett Co, MD. They lived in Accident MD and were members of the Mormon Church. Bep worked as Health Nurse for a while, there were two children born to the marriage: Margaret Anna Georg and Emily Beth Georg. Four children were adopted: Ronald Opel Georg, Daniel August Georg, John Peter Georg, Mary Elizabeth Georg. Bep had a variety of interests including oil painting, cooking, sewing, rug braiding, researching family history. She wrote a 400 page book on the history of the Opel Family which had originated in Germany. Bep Opel died at home in Accident, MD, on Oct 1, 2001. Her husband had preceded her in death in 1999. Her son Ronald Opel Georg had preceded her in death. She left three daughters and three adopted children Dan, John, Mary. She was buried in the Glades Cemetery near her mother and sister Fern.
