Description	:	Berniece Boyle, 72, of Scribner died Tuesday, Dec. 30, 2008, at Good Samaritan Center in Scribner. She was born Oct. 1, 1936, in Wallace County, Kan., to Alex and Mary (Urban) Basgall. She grew up in Wallace until moving to Sharon Springs, Kan., at a young age. She graduated from Sharon Springs High School in 1954. She was born Oct. 1, 1936, in Wallace County, Kan., to Alex and Mary (Urban) Basgall. She grew up in Wallace until moving to Sharon Springs, Kan., at a young age. She graduated from Sharon Springs High School in 1954. She then attended Hayes St. College and received her teaching certificate. She then taught school at Wallace Grade School. She married Charles Boyle on June 13, 1960, in Sharon Springs. The couple eventually moved to Scribner where they remained. After moving here, she taught school at Mud Creek Pebble District 25 northwest of Scribner until starting her family. She worked various part-time jobs including Lee’s market, Scribner Pharmacy, Morris Oil, The Depot and Elkhorn Valley Villa. Her husband preceded her in death in 1996. For years she taught CCD at St. Lawrence, was a member of its guild, was choir director, played guitar and was a very active member. She also was a member of the Legion Auxiliary, SEA Club and Sunshine Club. Survivors include: six children, Bob (and wife, Cathie) Boyle of Crete, Kerry (and wife, Beth) Boyle of Scribner, Sandy (and husband, Chris) Boll of Ranchester, Wyo., Linda (and husband, Randy) Birchem of Columbus, Julie (and husband, Richard) Benson of Stanley, N.C., and Duane (and wife, Patti) Boyle of Ponca; two brothers, George Basgall and Hubert (and wife, Vonna) Basgall; two sisters, Dolores Bussen and Juanita Wostenberg; brother-in-law, Charles Chaney; and 18 grandchildren.
