Description	:	Mary Calista Harris, the only daughter of Frank M. and Calista Rife Harris, was born on a farm northwest of Nelson October 12, 1919, and passed away while living in Gillette, New Jersey, November 3, 1981, at the age of 62 years and 22 days. Mary attended Shiloh Grade School, graduated from Nelson High School in 1937, from York College (now Westmar College) in 1946 and from Fuller Seminary in Pasadena, California, some years later. Her employment included: rural school teaching, Boeing in Seattle, General Electric Company in Schenectady, New York, teaching Math and Dean of Women at the Christian Jr. College... Mary attended Shiloh Grade School, graduated from Nelson High School in 1937, from York College (now Westmar College) in 1946 and from Fuller Seminary in Pasadena, California, some years later. Her employment included: rural school teaching, Boeing in Seattle, General Electric Company in Schenectady, New York, teaching Math and Dean of Women at the Christian Jr. College and High School in Southern California, Jet Propulsion Lab, Pasadena, California, Bell Telephone Systems at Belcom in Washington, D.C. and Bell Labs in New Jersey. As a young person she accepted Christ as her Savior and she was always active in her church and other Christian activities. Preceding her in death were her parents, two brothers, John and Carl, and a nephew. Survivors include two brothers, Frank of Nelson and George of Cambridge; four sisters-in-law; five nieces; seven nephews; nine great nieces; seven great nephews; two great great nieces and one great great nephew. Funeral service were held at 2 p.m. Monday, November 9, at the Presbyterian Church with Rev. Richard Markland officiating. Burial was in Smith Cemetery, north of Nelson.
