Description	:	Frank Monroe Harris, son of John B. and Margaret Ann Harris, was born November 26, 1876, on the farm north of Nelson and departed this life March 1, 1950, at the age of 73 years, 3 months and 3 days. As a young man he joined the Pleasant View United Brethren church (sic) five miles north of Nelson and remained a faithful supporter of that church until his death. Read More	Frank Monroe Harris, son of John B. and Margaret Ann Harris, was born November 26, 1876, on the farm north of Nelson and departed this life March 1, 1950, at the age of 73 years, 3 months and 3 days. As a young man he joined the Pleasant View United Brethren church (sic) five miles north of Nelson and remained a faithful supporter of that church until his death. He attended Shiloh school except for a short time when he stayed with his sister in Edgar and attended school there. After the death of his father in 1903 he managed the home farm and helped his mother care for the younger children and his oldest sister Martha's orphaned children. On August 10, 1910 he was united in marriage to Calista Jane Rife. They made their home on the farm north of Nelson homesteaded by his father. When the house burned in 1923 they moved to the adjoining quarter section where they lived until his death. On October 17, 1949, his beloved wife preceded him in death. He leaves to mourn his passing five children: John L. of Bellingham, Washington; Frank R. of Nelson; Carl W. of North Hollywood, California; Mary Calista at home; and George A. of York; nine grandchildren; one brother, S.A. Harris of Riddle, Oregon; two sisters, Mrs. Harry Shaw and Mrs. Irvin McCutchan, both of Nelson; many other relatives and a host of friends. Funeral services were held Sunday afternoon, March 5, 1950, at two o'clock in the Pleasant View Evangelical United Brethren church (sic). They were conducted by the pastor, Robert Embree of York. Mrs. A.B. Ferebee, Mrs. Wayne Wroughton, Roy Brookhart and Joseph Ferebee, accompanied by Mrs. Joseph Ferebee, sang "All The Way My Savior Leads Me," "Sunrise" and "Abide With Me." Burial was at the Smith cemetery (sic). Pallbearers were E.G. Wroughton, A.B. Ferebee, Herb Ferebee, Ralph Harritt, George Herrick and Billie Herrick. The Nelson Gazette, Thursday, March 9, 1950
