The daughter of the... Read More	MRS. MARY STERLING DIED IN BALTIMORE Born And Lived In Crisfield For Most Of Her Life Funeral Services Were Held Sunday Afternoon Mrs. Mary C. Sterling, widow of the late John W. Sterling, died at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Grafton Wilson, in Baltimore, Friday of last week, at the age of 69 years. Mrs. Sterling had not been in good health for some time, bit it was not realized that her condition was so serious, and her death came as a great shock to her family and to her friends alike. The daughter of the late William Daugherty and Mary Elizabeth Bradshaw Daugherty, Mrs. Sterling was born, and except for the last few years, lived in Crisfield. She was a woman of fine presence, of firm convictions, and with great energy and enthusiasm for church and social work. A devoted wife and mother with her late husband she reared a fine family of girls and boys, with whom she spent the declining years of her life pleasantly and happily. When at home she was active in late years in affairs of the Baptist Temple, and with other members of that church helped in many ways to raise money for it and to keep up the interest among all of its members in its various activities. As a citizen she was interested in the welfare of her community, and during her lifetime she made many warm friends who learned of her death with sincere regret. Her body reposed at the Bradshaw Funeral Home until 1:30 o'clock Sunday afternoon, when funeral services were held at the Baptist Temple, with Dr. J. Yancey Fincher, assisted by Dr. William T. Crawford, officiating. Interment was beside the body of her husband in Asbury cemetery. Pall bearers were Charles D. Briddell, G. Edward Sheriff, Joseph S. McGrath, Wells Marshall, Jesse Ennis and Benson Ennis. The large attendance at the funeral and the many beautiful floral pieces which banked her casket was testimony of the esteem and regard in which she was held by so many persons. She is survived by five children, Mrs. Grafton Wilson, of Baltimore, Mrs. Charles Beauchamp, of Newport News, Va., Thomas C. Sterling of Crisfield, E. Warfield Sterling of Newport News, Va., and Randall Sterling of Baltimore, fifteen grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
