Kassmeier, 83, a resident of Montana for sixty years, passed away at the St. Clare hospital early this Wednesday morning. Mary C. Reicks was born Feb. 20, 1881, at Roselle, Iowa. She married Henry Kassmeier at Howells, Neb., Nov. 24, 1903. They came to Belt shortly after their marriage and homesteaded there about ten years. Read More	The following provided by Find A Grave contributor "Cara": The River Press, Fort Benton, Mont., 5 Aug 1964 Mrs. Mary Kassmeier Died Here Wednesday Mrs. Mary C. Kassmeier, 83, a resident of Montana for sixty years, passed away at the St. Clare hospital early this Wednesday morning. Mary C. Reicks was born Feb. 20, 1881, at Roselle, Iowa. She married Henry Kassmeier at Howells, Neb., Nov. 24, 1903. They came to Belt shortly after their marriage and homesteaded there about ten years. Later they moved to southwest of Fort Benton and lived there until about 1924, when they moved to Elim. They farmed in that community until they retired in 1943, and then moved to Fort Benton. Mr. Kassmeier died here March 1, 1953. They had five children, one of whom preceded them in death. Two sons, Leonard Kassmeier, of Fort Benton, and Herman Kassmeier, of Big Sandy; two daughters, Mrs. Rose Witt, of Geraldine, and Miss Anna Kassmeier, of Great Falls; and eleven grandchildren survive. Also surviving are a brother and two sisters, John Reicks and Lizabeth Reicks, Fort Benton, and Anna Galls of Howells, Neb. Four brothers andone sister preceded her in death. Requiem Mass will be at the Immaculate Conception church in this city at 9 a.m., Saturday morning. Burial will be in Riverside cemetery. In her years of residence here Mrs. Kassmeier made many friends, who will learn with regret of her passing.
