Mrs. Askren was born at Cherry Fork, Adams county, Ohio, February 2, 1814. Here she grew to womanhood, and early associated with the Associate Reformed Presbyterian church at that place. In 1835, September 16th, she married David Askren. In 1838, she moved to Boone county, Indiana, and spent some years, and then to Paxton, Ford county, Ills.
