Read More	Cherokee Sentinel, Friday, Nov. 12, 1897, page 3: Died Lisenbee -- Mrs. Mary E. Lisenbee passed away on Wednesday at the home of her son, T.J. Lisenbee, at the age of 76 years. She has for years resided in our city and was beloved and respected by all who knew her. She was born in 1821, in Green county, Tenn., where she grew up and married Wm. Lisenbee, in 1840. They moved to Johnson county in 1857, and passed through the exciting scenes of the border ruffians and Rebellion wars. Johnson county was the scene of many conflicts between the slavery and anti slavery forces. They moved to Crawford county in 1867 and settled on a farm near Pittsburg. She has been a widow for many years. Eleven children were born, six sons and five daughters. There remains of that number six sons. Grandma joined the Baptist church 40 years ago, and has lived a Christian life since. Although bereavements came often she never lost her faith in the One in whose hands she had committed her life. Funeral services were held at the home by the Rev. Thos. Pingry, and the remains were interred in the Cherokee cemetery.
