Description	:	Mary Ellen LaVelle was born at the homestead of John B. LaVelle and Lulu Agnes (Steffin) which was near Hayes but closer to Bunker, which doesn't exist anymore. A french Catholic priest baptized her and pronounced her name 'Marie' and that is what she was called from then on. She married Ralph Robert Zigler in 1928 in Huron, SD. They lived all their married life in Pierre. They had two daughters, Beverly Joan (Honey) and Lorraine Jean (Jean).
