Description	:	Mary Emaline Hill was born February 7, 1854. Her father's name was Harrison Hill; her mother's name was Martha Ann Nash Hill. She was the last of eight children. She married Henry Crosier on January 1, 1875 in Hopkinton, Delaware, Iowa. In 1878 they came to Nebraska in a covered wagon and settled on the homestead east of St. Edward. Read More	Mary Emaline Hill was born February 7, 1854. Her father's name was Harrison Hill; her mother's name was Martha Ann Nash Hill. She was the last of eight children. She married Henry Crosier on January 1, 1875 in Hopkinton, Delaware, Iowa. In 1878 they came to Nebraska in a covered wagon and settled on the homestead east of St. Edward. They had six children; Edith being the eldest. The oldest boy, Herbert, was killed in a threshing machine accident in 1903, at the age of 23. The second son, Jay Andrew, died in 1956. The youngest son, Waldo, was killed in World War I on June 17, 1918 in France. Crosier Post of the American Legion in St. Edward is named for him. There were two other daughters, Jennie and Mary. In 1910 they moved from the farm and settled in St. Edward for the remaining years. Henry and Mary lived most of their married lives at St. Edward and surrounding communities. Mary was a member of the Methodist Church. Henry died January 12, 1919. On February 8, 1944, Mary fell, breaking her hip and was an invalid after that time. Mary died January 7, 1946. MARY CROSIER RITES HELD ON THURSDAY Mary E. Hill, the last of the eight children of Harrison and Martha Ann Hill, was born on February 7, 1854, in Delaware County, Iowa, and passed away in St. Edward, Nebraska, on January 7, 1946, at the age of 91 years, 11 months. On January 1, 1875, she was married to Henry Crosier, and in 1878, she came with her husband to Nebraska in a covered wagon and settled on the homestead east of St. Edward. In 1910, Mr. and Mrs. Crosier moved from the farm and settled in St. Edward, where her husband passed away on January 12, 1919. To this union were born six children, three sons and three daughters. Two sons preceded her in death, Herbert LeRoy in 1903, and Waldo Henry in 1918. Three daughters and one son are left to mourn her passing, Mrs. L. E. Green, of Cedar Rapids; Mrs. Thomas McVeigh of Bremerton, Wash.; Mrs. Rollie Younger of Bremerton, Wash.; and Jay Crosier of St. Edward. She also leaves thirteen grandchildren and twenty-two great grandchildren. Mrs. Crosier had been a faithful member of the Methodist church for many years and was a regular attendant as long as her health permitted. On February 8, 1944, she fell, breaking her hip, and had been an invalid since that time. She will be greatly missed by her family and many friends. Funeral services were conducted last Thursday afternoon at 1:30 at the Methodist church, with Rev. E. S. Pangburn officiating. Miss Blanche Abbott presided at the piano while Mrs. Eldon Barber and Mrs. Edward Nelson sang, "Nearer My God to Thee," "Softly and Tenderly," and "God Will Take Care of You." The pallbearers were H. P. Kundsen, I. H. Myhre, Carl Wells, Clarence Shade, George Rich and Bert Truelove. Interment was made in the family lot in the Evergreen Cemetery. Out of town relatives attending the funeral were Mr. and Mrs. L. E. Green, Mr. and Mrs. Cecil Cornwell, and Mr. and Mrs. Claude Green, all of Cedar Rapids. ST. EDWARD ADVANCE
