Description	:	Mary Emma Shelangoski, 96, formerly of Brighton died Wednesday morning October 31, 2012, at McCreedy Home in Washington. She was born April 29, 1916, south of Wayland to Isadore and Eugenia Wobig Deutsch, Sr. Mary attended Wayland schools and married Robert H. Shelangoski in East Pleasant Plain December 29, 1936. He died February 6, 2001. They retired from the farm in 1974 when they moved into Brighton , they moved to Washington in 1995. Joseph and Cabrini Catholic Church and the Altar and Rosary Society, Pleasant Valley Neighborhood Club and the Krony Krew Bridge Club. She is survived by her children: Don Shelangoski (Donna) of Springfield, MO, Sheila Foreman (Paul) of West Des Moines, Patti Davis (Bob) of Iowa City, daughter-in-law Donna Shelangoski of Yellville, AR, 13 grandchildren, 40 great grandchildren, 7 great great grandchildren and her sister Esther Horak of Washington. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, 2 sons: Gary and infant son Stephan, and 5 brothers: Leo, William, Isadore, Jr. Joseph and Victor. A funeral mass will be held at 10:30 A.M. Saturday November 3, 2012, at St. Joseph Catholic Church at East Pleasant Plain. Burial will be in the parish cemetery. Open visitation at Gould Funeral Home in Brighton will be 1-3 P.M. Friday afternoon. Visitation with the family will be 5-7 P.M. Friday evening at St. Joseph Church followed by Prayers for a Christian Wake beginning at 7 P.M. also at the church. Memorials for St. Joseph Cemetery or St. James Church may be left at the funeral home or church or mailed to the family at 5050 S. Lafontaine Avenue, Springfield, MO 65810. Gould Funeral Home of Brighton is in charge of arrangements.
