MARY NALL Akron Woman Succumbed to Heart Attack on Evening of December 19 Mention was briefly made in these columns last week of the death of Mrs. Mary Nall at her home, northwest of town, on Wednesday evening, December 19, 1934, after a brief illness from a heart attack, aged 77 years, 1 month and 8 days. Mary Frances Lemen was born November 11, 1857, at Olney, Illinois, where she resided during the early years of her life. She was united in marriage with James Franklin Nall on August 10, 1886, at Durham, Missouri. Nine children were born to this union, the two youngest dying in infancy. Her husband also preceded her in death. The surviving children are: Mrs. Lawrence Fletchcer, Mrs. Frank Bennett, Mrs. Pearl Scott, Mrs. Irvin Sherman, Will and Chas. Nall, all of Akron, and Mrs. S. E. Elliott, of Indianapolis, Ind. Mrs. Nall had lived in Akron and vicinity for a number of years. She united with the Baptist church at Durham, Mo., early in life, and although of late years was unable to attend church services, was a firm and faithful believer in her Christ. One brother, Lyman Lemen, of Durham, Mo., also survives. Our leader is gone, what shall we do? She blazed the trail, we must follow through. Through wealth she had not, yet she left us rich. In things money cannot buy—taught us honesty, truth and faithfulness, a love for the God on high. We speak of soldiers at the battlefront, of their courage and gallantry, Yet on pages of history you'll find one not, who has shown more courage than she. That great, undying spirit of our pioneers so brave; And oh! Her battle, it lasted so long, From babyhood to the grave. Folks, it's hard to give her up, our grief is hard to smother; To some it's just an old lady passed on, To us, a great Christian mother. Funeral services were held Saturday at 2 p. m. in the First Christian church of Akron, conducted by Rev. O. M. Keyes, of Sioux City, a former pastor of the local Christian church. Rev. and Mrs. W. H. McDonald sang, as did also Daisy Bennett and Ethel Nall, grand- daughters of the deceased. Interment was in Riverside cemetery. Mrs. S. E.
