Description	:	Mary Iris Petersen was born May 18, 1925, at Indianapolis, Indiana, the daughter of Warner and Louise (Lornston) Peasley. She graduated from Oto High School. While in high school, she taught tap dancing. She married Harold J. "Lefty" Petersen on July 16, 1944, in Midway. The couple farmed near Anthon. He died January 25, 1996. She was a member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church, Ladies Aid and Sunnyside Group. She enjoyed antiques, painting, reading and playing bridge. Burial was in St. Paul Lutheran Cemetery, Midway, under direction of Armstrong Funeral home of Anthon, Iowa. Survivors include two sons, Brad of Correctionville and Kenton of Sioux City; a daughter and her husband, Carol and Dan Teckenburg of Deloit, Iowa; seven grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; two brothers-in-law and their wives, Orville and Shirley Petersen of Danbury, Iowa, and Earl and Donna Petersen of Anthon; and a cousin. She was preceded in death by her parents and a brother, Vern. Pallbearers will be Jonathan, Bruce and Roger Petersen and Brent, Jason and Nathan Mahrt.
