Funeral services were held Tuesday morning at the First Methodist Church, conducted by Rev. Wilson, Baptist minister at Asherville and Simpson. Special music was furnished by a quartette composed of O.F. Bearnes, Dr. McNutt, J.L. Fletcher and Will Pilcher. Burial was in Glasco Cemetery. The community joins the bereaved children in mourning the loss of this most estimable citizen, their mother. Mary Jane Louthan Mary Jane Louthan passed to the life beyond Sunday morning, January 22, 1922. While the church bells were calling others to worship, God's finger touched her and she slept. Then closed the book of her life which had opened at Holton, Indiana, 82 years, 9 months and 5 days before. The volume is a record of untiring service, unselfish devotion and unquestioning love. On August 15th, she was married to Edmund Louthan, whose life closed at Glasco on October 8, 1914 after a span of 85 years. All of her children were at her bedside when the final summons came: Catherine Jackson, of Barnard; Riley Louthan who had made his home with her for so many years; Quint Louthan, of Ponca City, Oklahoma; and Walter Louthan of Glasco.
