Description	:	second husband James George Mary Jane Thorne was born August 20, 1839 , and died January 11, 1915, aged 75 years, 4 months, and 22 days. Her birthplace was Lawrence Co., Indiana. From there she came with her parents to this vicinity, where she has spent the remaining years of her life. In the year 1861, on June 20, she was united in marriage to George W. From there she came with her parents to this vicinity, where she has spent the remaining years of her life. In the year 1861, on June 20, she was united in marriage to George W. Nolin who died in 1886. Of this union, ten children were born, seven boys and three girls- seven of whom are still living. She was also mother to a step-son, Cyrus, whom she honored as she did her own children. She leaves one sister, Mrs. Susan Ferrel and one brother, Joseph Thorne, both of whom are living in this vicinity. She joined the Methodist church early in life and remained a member the rest of her days. She was ever kind and thoughtful mother, a loyal wife and a good neighbor.The funeral service was held at Tool's Chapel on Wednesday, January 13, at 11 o'clock. Rev. Fitzsimmons preached a very good sermon from 1 Thessalonians 4:13 "But I would not have you be ignorant, brethren, concerning them which are asleep, that ye sorrow not, even as other which here no hope." The six sons acted as pall bearers. The remains were laid to rest in the Silent City of the Dead. Some years ago the deceased suffered a stroke of paralysis, which left her in a very weakened condition, for several months past she had been almost helpless and on January 10th was stricken to her bed by another paralytic stroke. She survived only 24 hours. All her children were with her in her last illness, excepting, Mrs. J.W. McConeghey, of Germania, Iowa, who arrived in time for the funeral service. "Come home, thy work is done. We waited at the bedside of a precious suffering one, till Jesus whispered softly; Come home, thy work is done."
