Read More	The Daily Press (Newport News, Va.), Sun, 31 Oct 2004 Mary Lou Chandler Robins Gloucester - Mary Lou Chandler Robins, age 92, a longtime resident of Zanoni, Gloucester County, passed away on Saturday, Oct. 30, 2004, at Francis N. Sanders Nursing Home. Mary was born June 23, 1912, in Middlesex County, the daughter of Cephas Harris and Mattie Carlton Chandler. After her mother's untimely death in 1916, she was reared by her father and an aunt in Ware Neck and Urbanna. In 1932, she married Charles Franklin Robins, merchant and postmaster at Zanoni, and together they operated Zanoni Store for a period of over 30 years. Mrs. Robins, a Methodist, attended Beulah Baptist Church in Ware Neck, where her husband was a life member. She was a former member of the Augustine Warner Chapter, Daughters of the American Revolution, and the Descendants of Loyalists and Patriots of the American Revolution. She served as postmaster at Zanoni from 1947 until her retirement in 1972. She was preceded in death by her husband of 60 years, Charles F. Robins; a son, Charles F. Robins Jr.; and a brother, Earl F. Chandler. She is survived by her son, Robert W. Robins of Zanoni, and two grandchildren. The family will receive friends from 7 to 8:30 p.m. on Monday at Andrews Funeral Home. A graveside service will be conducted by the Rev. Homer South at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, Nov. 2, at Singleton United Methodist Church Cemetery, Schley, Va. Memorial donations may be made to the Riverside Hospice or to a favorite charity. Funeral arrangements are by Andrews Funeral Home, Gloucester, Va.
