FRED ADAMS WAS WELL KNOWN IN AKRON AND UNION COUNTY Mrs. Fred Adams, 58, died early Tuesday at her home in Sioux Valley township. Union county, South Dakota, near Akron, Iowa. She died after an illness of three weeks of complications. Mrs. Adams was born in Hutchinson, Minn., March 28, 1875. In 1890, she was married to Fred Adams at Olivet, S. D. She resided in Tripp, S. D., seven years. Blunt, S. D., five years, Akron, seven years and Chatsworth, nine years. For the last -twelve years she lived on a farm in Union county. Surviving are the widower; five sons, Raymond B., of Akron, Arthur W., of Akron, Claude L. and Fred E. of Los Angeles, Cal. and James of Sioux City; three daughters, Mrs. Ethel Harris of Akron, Mrs. Myrtle McCorkell, of Akron, and a brother, William Kennedy, of Billings, Mont., and fourteen grandchildren. The funeral services will be held at 2:30 o'clock Friday afternoon at the home. Rev. J. F. Moore, pastor of the Methodist church at Akron, will officiate and burial will be in the Akron cemetery. ADAMS Had Been a Resident of Akron Vicinity for a Number of Years Mention was made in these columns last week of the death of Mrs. Fred E. Adams, Sr., at her home in Sioux Valley township, Union county, S. D., on Tuesday morning, November 28, 1933, after a several weeks illness of heart trouble, aged 58 years and 8 months. Mary LuEtta Kennedy was born March 28, 1875, at Hutchinson, Minnesota. She was married to Fred E. Adams at Tripp, S. D., in 1891. Ten children were born to this union, two of whom died in infancy. Those surviving, besides the husband, are five sons and three daughters—Raymond E. and Arthur W., near Akron, la.; Claude L. and Fred E, Jr., of Los Angeles, Calif.; James W., of Sioux City, la.; Mrs. Ethel Mae Harris and: Mrs. Myrtle Marie McCorkell, near Akron, la., and Mrs. Elsie Elinora Brest, of Moore, Mont.; fourteen grandchildren; one brother and one sister, William Kennedy and Mrs. Kate Young, of Wagner, S. D Mr. and Mrs. Adams lived for seven years at Tripp and five years at Blunt, S. D. For seven years they resided on a farm near Akron, after which they moved to Chatsworth, la., and several years later to the present farm home in Union county,. S. D. Mrs, Adams was a kind and loving wife and mother, devoted to family and home; a steadfast friend and loyal neighbor, and will be greatly missed by all who have known her. There was a large attendance of relatives and friends at the funeral, held last Friday at 2:30 p. m. at the family home, and conducted by Rev. J. F. Moore, of the Akron M. E. church. Interment was in Riverside cemetery. Relatives from a distance in attendance at the funeral were: Mr. and Mrs. Wm. Brest, of Moore, Mont.; James Adams, of Sioux City; James Riley and daughter, Mrs. Clarence Schroeder, of Wagner, S.
