Read More	Mary Magdalena Upp was born April 5, 1837, in Clear Creek Township, Fairfield County, Ohio, the daughter of Daniel and Mary Upp. On January 19, 1862, in Fairfield County, she married Jeremiah Stebelton Valentine, son of Jacob Knouff and Mary Stebelton Valentine. They were the parents of 4 children: Ida A., George Allen, Omer Franklin and Clarence O. Valentine. Obituary for Mary Magdalene Upp Valentine from the Circleville Democrat & Watchman of March, 1899: "VALENTINE. From Stoutsville News. Mary Magdalene Upp, daughter of Daniel and Mary Upp, was born April 5, 1837, and departed this life March 5, 1899, aged 61 years, 11 months and 3 days. She was united in marriage to Jeremiah S. Valentine, January 19, 1862. To this union were born four children, three sons and one daughter, the youngest son having preceded her to the spirit world, the remaining children, together with the bereaved husband, one grandson, two brothers, two sisters and many relatives and friends, mourn her departure. 'Their loss is her eternal gain.' In infancy, she became a baptized member of the Reformed Church, during the pastorate of Rev. Henry King, of sainted memory, and at the age of seventeen was confirmed a full member of Heidelberg Reformed Church, at Stoutsville, in which faith she continued faithful until death. She was a true and loving wife, a faithful mother and a good neighbor, ever willing to do a kind act or favor."
