Description	:	Mary Margaret Cronin was born on April 6, 1916 to Timothy Joseph Cronin and Ellen "Nellie" (Fenton) Cronin who lived in Platte Center, Nebraska. She moved with her parents and siblings to their home northwest of Presho in 1926. It was in South Dakota that Mary Margaret's father, Tim (also called "TJ"), had secured a land patent, and was a homesteader. Mary Margaret attended country school in Presho, South Dakota. Read More	Mary Margaret Cronin was born on April 6, 1916 to Timothy Joseph Cronin and Ellen "Nellie" (Fenton) Cronin who lived in Platte Center, Nebraska. She moved with her parents and siblings to their home northwest of Presho in 1926. It was in South Dakota that Mary Margaret's father, Tim (also called "TJ"), had secured a land patent, and was a homesteader. Mary Margaret attended country school in Presho, South Dakota. After graduating from Presho High School, Mary attended college in Michell, SD where she received a teaching degree. She taught in a one room school house for several years, and traveled there on horseback. Mary Margaret later moved to Pierre, where she worked for many years for Pierre Production Credit, and later for Pierre Finance and Insurance. Mary then worked for the South Dakota State Library and retired in the mid 1980s. Mary is survived by her two sisters in law, Bernice Eleanor (Kozel) Hohn, and "Ella" who was Elizabeth Rose (Cronin) Kozel. She was preceded in death by her parents and five brothers. Mary Margaret never married or had children of her own. No marker has been placed at Mary Margaret's grave.
