Description	:	Polk Progress 10-18-1956 Mary Louise Blase, daughter of John and Minnie Meerkatz was born May 4, 1882 on a farm north of Hampton, Nebraska. In infancy she was baptized and attended the Christian Day School and was later confirmed into the Lutheran faith. In this faith she remained until the time of her death. On February 22, 1900 she was united in marriage to Fred W. Blase. They resided on a farm in York County until 1927 when they moved to the town of Polk. Read More	Polk Progress 10-18-1956 Mary Louise Blase, daughter of John and Minnie Meerkatz was born May 4, 1882 on a farm north of Hampton, Nebraska. In infancy she was baptized and attended the Christian Day School and was later confirmed into the Lutheran faith. In this faith she remained until the time of her death. On February 22, 1900 she was united in marriage to Fred W. Blase. They resided on a farm in York County until 1927 when they moved to the town of Polk. Her husband preceded her in death on December 31, 1944. The last year off her life she has been in failing health and has made her home with her two children. On Thursday, October 11, 1956 at 11:30 a.m. she fell asleep in the arms of her Saviour at the home of her daughter. She is survived by her two children, Henry C. Blase and Mrs. Hulda Laessle of Polk. A daughter-in-law and a son-in-law and one grand daughter, and three great grand children. One grand daughter, two brothers and two sisters preceded her in death. A memorial has been established. Services were held Sunday, October 14, at the Immanuel Lutheran Church. Rev. Walter Synatschk officiated. A mixed quartet composed of Ervin Blase, Virgil Blase, Deloris Sagehorn and Ada Wilshusen sang “Abide With Me” and “Asleep In Jesus”” They were accompanied by A.C. Aufdenkamp at the organ. Pallbearers were Harold Meerkatz, Clarence Meerkatz, Willard Meerkatz, Lyle Troester, Lawrence Hoffman, Leonard Troester. Interment was in the Immanuel Lutheran Cemetery.
