Mary was born May 06, 1916 near Bolton, Kansas to John W. and Sarah (Huffman) Hadley. She attended school at the Montgomery County School in Independence, Kansas and completed business school at the Bivins School of Business, Independence, Kansas. Mary was born May 06, 1916 near Bolton, Kansas to John W. and Sarah (Huffman) Hadley. She attended school at the Montgomery County School in Independence, Kansas and completed business school at the Bivins School of Business, Independence, Kansas. She began working for the Colburn Ford Agency. She worked for 20 years at Sinclair Pipeline Company where she began as a bell hop and was a secretary for the majority of her years at Sinclair. She also worked in the offices of Dr. Borklund, Dr. Myers, Dr. Bair, Dr. Barbera, and Dr. Sheikh. She married Vernon A. Patterson in 1934 and they later divorced. On March 12, 1947, Mary married Dale Youngberg in Independence, Kansas. She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Independence and a life member of the V.F.W. Auxiliary. Mary is survived by her husband, Dale Youngberg of Independence, Kansas; two sons, William B. Patterson of Independence, Kansas and E. Dale Youngberg of Bartlesville, Oklahoma; five grandchildren; eight great grandchildren; and one great great granddaughter. She was preceded in death by her parents; two brothers; and one son. Visitation hours for Mary will be from 8:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. Thursday, June 26, 2003 and from 8:00 a.m. to noon, Friday, June 27, 2003 at the Webb & Rodrick Funeral Home. Funeral services for Mary M. Hadley-Youngberg will be held at 2:00 p.m., Friday, June 27, 2003 at the First Baptist Church, Independence, Kansas with the Reverend James Blocher officiating. Burial will follow at the Harrisonville Cemetery, southwest of Independence. The family has suggested memorial contributions to either the First Baptist Church of Independence or the American Heart Association.
